  Why ECO Tourism?

ECO Tourism is just what it sounds like – a combination of ecology and tourism. It encourages people – both residents and tourists – to visit places where they can enjoy the natural world. Patronage of natural attractions, like all tourism, feeds the local economy and enables the organizations that fight to sustain the natural attractions to continue their efforts.

Why is ECO Tourism so important?

Have you ever compared a photograph of a current location – like the lot your home sits on – against a photo of the same location taken 50 years ago? Or how about just 10 years ago? There is probably at least one major difference: the natural landscape.

Pull together a lot of these single photographs and you can see from this bigger picture how the Evansville region has changed. Fewer trees. Fewer open spaces. Fewer natural habitats. Fewer native plants and animals.

And that’s why ECO Tourism is so important!

So what are you waiting for? Come explore!
